*Argentina’s national statistics institute (Indec) has reported that the monthly estimate of economic activity (Emae) was up 1.7% in July as compared to the previous month but was down 1.3% year-on-year. This follows a monthly decline of 0.3% in June, when the annual rate was down 3.9%. The July monthly figure was above the median estimate for 0.6% growth of economists surveyed by Bloomberg. In year-on-year terms, declines were registered in ten sectors including construction (-14.8%), fishing (-9.9%), manufacturing industry (-5.6%), and wholesale, retail, & repairs (-5.3%). The largest yearly increase was registered in the agriculture, livestock, hunting & forestry sector (+23.6%).
