In brief: Tourism revenue rises in Mexico

*Mexico’s tourism minister, Miguel Torruco Marqués, has announced that tourism revenue increased by 7% in the first seven months of this year compared with the same period in 2023, standing at US$20.3bn. He said that 25.82m international tourists visited Mexico between January and July, representing a 5.3% year-on-year increase. On average, tourists who arrived by air spent US$1,184 during their stay, up 2.1% year-on-year.
