ARGENTINA: Milei doubles down on austerity for pensioners
Argentina’s President Javier Milei redoubled his hardline stance on fiscal austerity this week by pushing back against widespread pressure to increase pension payments. On 2 September the official gazette published Milei’s full veto of a bill that would have increased pension payments by more than he had planned.
