*Brazil’s central bank (BCB) has released the latest figures for its economic activity index (IBC-Br), used as a proxy to anticipate GDP figures, which showed that economic activity in June rose by 1.4% in monthly terms and 3.2% year-on-year. The IBC-Br for the second quarter of this year showed a 1.1% increase from Q1 and a 2.8% increase from Q2 2023. The accumulated economic activity in the 12 months until June 2024 was up 1.6% compared to the previous 12-month period. The national statistics institute (Ibge) had registered growth in various sectors in June, such as the industrial and services sectors.
