MEXICO: Plot thickens around Sinaloa DTO arrests
On 31 July a lawyer claiming to represent the family of Joaquín Guzmán López, one of two alleged leaders of the Sinaloa drug trafficking organisation (DTO) arrested in the US on 25 July, denied rumours that Guzmán López kidnapped the DTO’s co-founder, Ismael ‘El Mayo’ Zambada García, to deliver him to US authorities.
