In brief: Costa Rica raises growth forecast

*Costa Rica’s central bank (BCCR) has revised up its growth forecast for 2024 and 2025 to 4.0% for each year, up 0.2 percentage points on its previous (April) forecast. It says that economic growth this year will likely be driven by external and domestic demand while growth in the 2025 will likely be driven by domestic demand. The 4.0% GDP growth forecast is in line with the latest (June) forecast from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) which notes that Costa Rica’s GDP grew 5.1% in 2023.
