President-elect Claudia Sheinbaum may have named fewer ministers in her latest cabinet announcement on 4 July than in previous rounds [WR-24-26], but the list contained some of the biggest appointments yet. These included the interior minister, who will act as her number two, and the public security minister, who will be responsible for tackling the power of drug trafficking organisations (DTOs), something which President Andrés Manuel López Obrador has not succeeded in doing.
