*Shell Trinidad and Tobago Ltd, a subsidiary of British multinational oil firm Shell, has announced it has taken a Final Investment Decision (FID) to develop the Manatee gas field in the East Coast Marine Area (ECMA) in Trinidad & Tobago. According to a Shell statement, this project will support Shell’s goal to expand its liquified natural gas (LNG) business by 20-30% by 2030. The Manatee field is expected to start production in 2027, reaching peak output of approximately 104,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day. Writing on social media, Trinidad & Tobago’s energy minister, Stuart Young, hailed the project “as the largest hydrocarbon developmental project in TT in the last couple decades”.
