*A group of ten Spanish entrepreneurs from the pharmaceutical, technology, and telecommunications sectors have arrived in Paraguay to explore investment opportunities. The trip follows a visit by Paraguay’s President
Santiago Peña to Spain in February, together with his trade & industry minister,
Javier Giménez. The group, which includes
Eduardo Álvarez, the founder and CEO of communications consultancy Puentia;
Manu Marín, the CEO of biotechnology company Halotech; and
Miguel Ara, the CEO of pharmaceutical firm Mapbiopharma, arrived in Paraguay on 5 July. The group will stay until 11 July, and is due to visit the Itaipú hydroelectric complex on the border between Paraguay and Brazil and companies located in the capital Asunción and in Ciudad del Este, the capital of the eastern Alto Paraná department.
