*Costa Rica’s national statistics institute (Inec) has released new figures showing that the national unemployment rate was 8.5% in the March-May 2024 rolling quarter. This is down 1.6 percentage points on the same quarter in 2023 but up on the 7.9% unemployment rate in the immediately preceding quarter ending in April.
