In brief: Honduras’ inflation slows again

*Honduras’ central bank (BCH) has released new figures showing that monthly inflation in May slowed for a third consecutive month to reach 0.16%, which the BCH notes is the lowest figure of the last 12 months. This brings year-on-year inflation to 4.94%, the fifth consecutive month that inflation has been within the bank’s target range of 4.0% +/-1.0. The BCH estimates that fiscal and monetary policy actions by the government and central bank reduced inflation by 1.64 percentage points regarding the May annual figure.
