In brief: Mexico’s GDP up in Q1

*Mexico’s national statistics institute (Inegi) has released its latest figures on quarterly GDP growth, showing that in the first quarter of 2024, GDP increased by 0.3% as compared to the previous quarter. The GDP of activities in the primary sector (agriculture) was up 1.7%, with activities in the tertiary sector (services) up 0.6%. The GDP of secondary activities (manufacturing) was down 0.5% compared to the previous quarter. In yearly terms, GDP grew by 1.9% in the first quarter, with tertiary activities up 2.4%, secondary activities up 1.5%, and primary activities up 0.7%.
