MEXICO: Collaboration with Cuba
There has been a flurry of meetings between representatives from Mexico’s government led by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and Cuba’s government led by President Miguel Díaz-Canel in recent weeks. This began with a meeting between López Obrador and Cuba’s Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez in Mexico City (CDMX) at the start of the month and has since led to plans to boost cooperation in areas including healthcare and migration, and indications that Mexico is selling oil to Cuba – which is unlikely to please the US.
