PERU | Attacks on gold mine in Pataz continue despite state of emergency. On 5 April Peruvian gold mining company Poderosa, which operates a gold mine in Pataz province, in the north-western region of La Libertad, said that illegal miners had used dynamite to take down two high-voltage towers that supply energy to its mining operations, resulting in one worker being killed and two injured.
