The latest opinion polls compiled as Milei approached the end of his first 100 days in office in late March, show that Argentine society remains politically polarised. According to polling agency D’Alessio IROL Berensztein, the Milei administration had a 43% approval rate, but a 52% disapproval rate. Meanwhile another pollster, Giacobbe & Asociados, found that 53.6% of respondents had a positive image of the new president, against 42.1% with a negative image. Opina Argentina found Milei had a positive image for 52% of those surveyed (up by two points on the previous month) but it also noted that its margin of error was +/- 2.6%. This agency found that support for the president was significantly higher among men (65%) than among women (49%). Facundo Nejamkis, director of Opina Argentina, argues that Milei comes across as an “attractive and disruptive” person to many voters. If he can steer the economy back to a growth path, it is likely that his hard core of supporters will consolidate. Failure to deliver on the economy, however, will weaken and begin to dismantle the pro-government coalition.End of preview - This article contains approximately 601 words.
