*Argentina’s national statistics institute (Indec) has reported that in January the monthly index of economic activity (Emae) decreased by 1.2% as compared to the previous month and was down 4.3% year-on-year. In year-on-year terms, declines were registered in ten sectors including construction (-16.9%), fishing (-13.5%), financial intermediation (-12.6%), manufacturing industry (-11.3%), and wholesale, retail, & repairs (-8.2%). Meanwhile agriculture, fishing & livestock posted growth (+11.1%) along with mining & quarrying (+5.2%).
