*Bolivia’s President Luis Arce has inaugurated the country’s first biodiesel plant in the eastern city of Santa Cruz, which he said would help Bolivia to reduce its dependency on fuel imports. “We’re starting to produce our own biofuels from the produce grown by our brothers and sisters in the agricultural sector,” Arce wrote on social media. The state hydrocarbon company Yacimientos Petrolíferos Fiscales Bolivianos (YPFB), which owns the plant, has previously said that the new facility will produce around 1,500 barrels of fuel per day (bpd), with the potential to reach 2,000 bpd.
