PANAMA: Gov’t highlights surge in Darién crossings

On 24 March Panama’s interior ministry (Minseg) revealed that over 100,000 migrants have crossed the perilous Darién Gap, a roadless expanse of jungle on Panama’s border with Colombia, which serves as a key corridor for migrants seeking to reach the US.
