*Nicaragua’s central bank (BCN) has released new figures which show the country’s GDP grew 4.6% in 2023, up from 3.8% in 2022. The BCN highlights strong growth in the sectors of hotels & restaurants (23.3%), mining & quarrying (12.8%), electricity (12.7%), construction (8.1%), trade (7.2%), and transport & communications (4.6%), among others, while agriculture and fishing & aquiculture both posted declines – of 3.8% and 15.5% respectively.
