After weeks of gridlock that at one point sparked an eruption of violent protest in Bogotá and expressions of international concern, Colombia’s supreme court has finally reached a consensus on the country’s next attorney general. Luz Adriana Camargo will be the country’s top prosecutor until 2028, inheriting a number of politically sensitive investigations – not least the one examining alleged illegal financing in President Gustavo Petro’s 2022 election campaign.
