*Chile’s central bank (BCCh) has released its monthly index of economic activity (Imacec) for January, which shows a yearly increase of 2.5% and a rise of 1.7% compared to the previous month. This comes after drops of 1% in yearly terms and 1.1% in monthly terms in December. According to the BCCh, every sector registered a yearly rise in January, particularly other goods (+5.2%) and services (+1.9%). The monthly increase was driven by rises in mining (+6.1%) and services (+1.0%). In January, the non-mining Imacec also registered increases of 2.6% in annual terms and 1.1% as compared to the previous month.
