*Bolivia’s state-owned lithium company Yacimientos de Litio Bolivianos (YLB) has announced a new international tender for lithium projects on seven salt flats in the southwestern departments of Potosí and Oruro. YLB’s president, Karla Calderón, said that the government is seeking bids to develop pilot lithium plants across “the whole productive chain”. Hydrocarbons & Energy Minister Franklin Molina said that there has been investor interest from the European Union, China, Russia, Brazil, and other countries. The salt flats where the proposed projects are located are Uyuni, Coipasa, Pastos Grandes, Capina, Cañapa, Chiguana, and Empexa.
