In brief: Venezuela and Indonesia sign MoU on oil and gas
*The governments of Venezuela and Indonesia have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to deepen their cooperation on oil and natural gas. Venezuela’s Oil Minister Pedro Tellechea, who is also the president of state oil company Petróleos de Venezuela (Pdvsa), signed the MoU with Indonesia’s Energy Minister Arifin Tasrif following a meeting in Caracas. According to a Pdvsa statement, the Venezuelan and Indonesian delegations “analysed business and investment opportunities in crude and gas, especially regarding the granting of offshore gas licences and projects in the west and east of the country”. Tellechea said that the agreement with Indonesia “will improve Venezuela’s perspectives in the strategic Asian market”.
