*The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (Opec) has released its latest monthly oil market report, in which Venezuela claimed to have produced 802,000 barrels of oil per day (bpd) in December. This was in line with Venezuela’s previous report of 801,000 bpd in November. Opec’s own estimate, based on secondary sources, put Venezuela’s oil production lower at 786,000 bpd in December, up from its estimate of 779,000 bpd in November.
