BRAZIL: Deforestation drops in Amazon, rises in Cerrado
On 12 January Brazil’s national space research institute (Inpe) released the 2023 deforestation figures for the country’s two largest biomes, the Amazon rainforest, where deforestation decreased year-on-year, and the Cerrado woodland-savannah, where deforestation is on the rise.
