In brief: International tourism up in Mexico

*Mexico’s national statistics institute (Inegi) has released new figures showing that 3.48m international tourists visited the country in November 2023, a 3.8% increase on November 2022. According to Inegi, revenue generated by international visitors in November totalled US$2.48bn, up 1.9% year-on-year. In a statement, Tourism Minister Miguel Torruco Marqués, stated that Mexico received US$27.4bn from foreign tourism receipts between January and November 2023, up 9.8% compared to the same period of 2022 and up 24.1% on the same period of 2019.
