*Argentina’s ‘blue dollar’, or black market exchange rate, has hit a record Ar$1,120/US$1, some 30% up on the official rate of Ar$859/US$1. This comes after the blue dollar broke the Ar$1,000 threshold for the first time in October. Referring to the jump in the exchange rate in his daily press conference, the presidential spokesperson, Manuel Adorni, said that “politics must do its part” and approve President Javier Milei’s omnibus reform bill in order to avoid “disaster”, saying the rise was just an example of what could happen in the markets if congress rejected the bill.
