In brief: Inflation slows in Honduras

*Honduras’ central bank (BCH) has released new figures which show that inflation closed 2023 at 5.19%, a significant drop on the 9.80% reported at the end of 2022. According to the BCH the inflation rate for December is the lowest of the last three years – a drop it attributes to lower prices in fuel for transport and domestic use, electricity tariffs, and slower growth in the prices of certain food items.
