BRAZIL | Lula seeks Saudi investment. President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva began a two-day visit to Saudi Arabia on 28 November, where he met Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to discuss a range of bilateral interests, such as renewable energy, agriculture, and defence, among other potential areas of economic cooperation. The Saudi sovereign wealth fund had previously planned to invest US$10bn in projects in Brazil, US$9bn of which will be invested in the next seven years.
