New head of hydrocarbons agency appointed. President Gustavo Petro officially designated Orlando Velandia Sepúlveda as the new director of the Agencia Nacional de Hidrocarburos (ANH) on 28 November. A geological engineer and lawyer specialised in mining law, Velandia Sepúlveda has held the post before, for the final two years of the second administration of Juan Manuel Santos (2010-2018). He fills a key position that has been vacant since May when it was held by Clara Guatame who resigned at the request of the government.
