* Colombia’s national statistics department (Dane) has announced that the country’s GDP fell by 0.3% in the third quarter of this year, compared with the same quarter of last year. This year-on-year drop was primarily due to a 6.2% fall in manufacturing industries; a 3.5% drop across wholesale & retail commerce, vehicle repairs, transport & storage, and hospitality services; and an 8.0% fall in construction. However, in seasonally adjusted quarterly terms Colombia’s GDP grew by 0.2% in Q3, due to growth in mining & quarrying (+2.0%); agriculture, fishing & hunting (+1.2%); and public administration & defence, social security plans, education, and health & social services (+0.9%).
