*Costa Rica’s state-owned internet provider Radiográfica Costarricense (Racsa), part of state-run electricity and telecommunications provider Grupo Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad (ICE), has confirmed that Grupo ICE has launched a new bidding process for the acquisition of goods and services to implement a 5G telecommunications network across the country. According to a Racsa statement, the objective is to acquire goods and services that will permit the implementation of a 5G network as well as the development of LTE (telecommunication) networks among other things. The statement adds that the adjudication process should be finalised within four months.
