Government accepts another US labour rights complaint. On 2 November Mexico’s economy ministry (SE) announced that it had accepted a request made by the Office of the US Trade Representative (USTR) on 23 October to review whether workers’ rights to freedom of association and collective bargaining were being denied at an Asiaway automotive parts facility in San Luis Potosí state. Asiaway is a Chinese-owned firm that sells locomotive parts to companies in 22 countries, whose subsidiary plant in San Luis Potosí was only officially opened in June.
