In brief: Inflation falls in Colombia

* Colombia’s national statistics department (Dane) has announced that monthly inflation in October was 0.25%, bringing the annual inflation rate to 10.48%. This compares with a monthly rate of 0.54% and an annual rate of 10.99% in September. Dane stated that monthly inflation in October owed primarily to price increases for housing, water, electricity & gas (+0.35%) and food & non-alcoholic drinks (+0.20%). The category which saw the steepest monthly price increase was recreation & culture (+0.55%). The only category in which prices fell was transport (-0.02%).
