On 2 November Brazil’s national daily Folha de São Paulo cited Rafael Velasco, the head of Brazil’s national prison policy secretariat (Senappen), as saying that prison authorities will launch a new phase of a nationwide operation to combat criminal organisations in prisons by confiscating mobile phones.
