CHILE: Water management solutions threaten biodiversity

The Chilean branch of international NGO Greenpeace has called on authorities to address several environmental challenges, including improvements to water management and protection for marine biodiversity. However, the closely linked issues will require holistic action from Chile’s government led by President Gabriel Boric, who has travelled to water-scarce regions, announcing measures such setting up water desalination plants – a solution not without ecological risks.
