* Brazil’s state oil company, Petrobras, has announced that its oil production reached 2.88m barrels of oil equivalent per day (boed) in the third quarter of this year, up 9.1% on the preceding quarter. Petrobras attributed this increase to improved operations at its pre-salt oil platforms, and to a reduction in halts to production for equipment maintenance. The company also highlighted the impact of two new oil wells at its Santos and Campos oilfields, although noted that the boost to production that these provided was mitigated by a natural decline in mature oilfields.
