BOLIVIA: Another presidential son in trouble

In July this year a scandal broke out in Colombia where Nicolás Petro, son of President Gustavo Petro, was accused of money laundering and illicit enrichment. Now Marcelo Arce Mosqueira, son of Bolivia’s President Luis Arce, is in a similar predicament: on 20 October the Bolivian prosecutor general said he was opening a formal investigation into whether the president’s son had broken the law in backroom negotiations with lithium and gas companies.
