BRAZIL: Federal reinforcements sent to combat gangs in Rio
On 16 October Brazil’s minister of justice & public security, Flávio Dino, travelled to the south-eastern state of Rio de Janeiro to announce further federal support for state police operations against organised crime, including the deployment of the national guard (‘Força Nacional’).
