MEXICO: New brewery illustrates growth of beer industry

Netherlands-based beer company Heineken has announced it plans to invest M$8.7bn (US$499m) in a new brewery that will be located in Kanasín municipality, Yucatán state. This will be Heineken’s eighth brewery in Mexico, but the first to be established in the southeast region of the country. Construction is expected to commence early next year in order to begin operations in 2026.
