BRAZIL: Smoke engulfs Manaus as fires rage
On 12 October Brazil’s justice minister, Flávio Dino, said the federal government would deploy national guard reinforcements to the state of Amazonas to help firefighting efforts there, as smoke from forest fires have engulfed the state capital Manaus.
