PARAGUAY: Colombia to investigate Cartes murder claims
On 10 October Colombia’s attorney general’s office (AG) announced it would investigate claims made on 6 October by Francisco Luis Correa Galeano, a Colombian, that Paraguay’s former president Horacio Cartes (2013-2018) was one of the masterminds behind the murder of Paraguay’s special prosecutor against organised crime, Marcelo Pecci, who was assassinated in Colombia in May 2022.
