In brief: Mexico’s growth ticks up

* Mexico’s national statistics institute (Inegi) has released the latest figures for its monthly global indicator of economic activity (IGAE), which show 0.2% economic growth in July 2023, as compared to the previous month. In seasonally-adjusted monthly terms, economic activity in July increased by 0.5% in the secondary (industrial) sector but decreased by 0.2% in the primary (agriculture) sector and by 0.1% in the tertiary (services) sector. In seasonally-adjusted year-on-year terms, economic activity increased by 3.5%, with the primary sector up 4.4%, the secondary sector up 4.9% and the tertiary sector up 2.4%.
