Ecuador’s electoral race is swinging towards Daniel Noboa, the young businessman standing for the right-of-centre Acción Democrática Nacional (ADN), with Luisa González, the candidate of the left-wing Revolución Ciudadana (RC) loyal to former president Rafael Correa (2007-2017), falling away. Noboa’s lead is now in excess of 10 percentage points, according to two separate electoral surveys, with the pressure on González to win over undecided voters in an upcoming presidential debate ahead of the second round showdown on 15 October.
