*The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) has authorised funds worth US$550,000 for Costa Rica to go on the country’s climate action policy and fiscal management. According to a finance ministry press release, the resources will contribute to the country advancing in the attainment of objectives of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by all United Nations (UN) members states in 2015, and Paris Climate Accords of the same year, which established a commitment to change the current social and economic model toward a more sustainable, resilient development model with zero carbon emissions.
