With new figures from the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) putting Colombian coca production at an all-time high, the timing was apt for President Gustavo Petro’s government to release its much-awaited counter-narcotics strategy. The 83-page document, which was unveiled on 9 September, outlines a raft of proposed measures to take Colombian drug policy in a more progressive direction over the next decade.
