In brief: International tourism posts strong growth in Argentina

*Argentina’s national statistics institute (Indec) has released figures showing that 1.22m international tourists visited the country in July, up 62.7% on the same month in 2022 and up from 947,800 in June. According to Indec, 83.7% of these tourists came from neighbouring countries, including Uruguay (29.6%), Brazil (25.2%), and Chile (15.4%), and 46.3% entered by land, 38.3% by air, and 15.4% by river/sea. According to the same figures, 7.5m international tourists visited the country in the first seven months of 2023, up from 3.2m who visited in the same period in 2022.
