In brief: Mexico’s inflation continues to slow year-on-year

*Mexico’s national statistics institute (Inegi) has released the consumer price index (INPC) for August, which shows that monthly inflation was 0.55%, and that annual inflation stood at 4.64%. This compares with monthly inflation of 0.48% in July when annual inflation was 4.79%. In August non-core inflation - which comprises energy and agrifoods – rose by 1.44% in monthly terms and 0.37% at an annual rate.
