In brief: Record oil and gas production in Brazil in July

* Brazil’s federal oil and gas regulator Agência Nacional do Petróleo, Gás Natural, e Biocombustíveis (ANP) has released the oil and natural gas production figures for July, registering a record 4.48m barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd) in total. Oil production in July came to 3.51m barrels per day (bpd), up 4.3% in monthly terms and 18.6% in yearly terms. Natural gas production came to 154.1m cubic metres, marking monthly increase of 1.2% and a 13.6% year-on-year rise. The total production for pre-salt oil and gas was 3.36m boepd, accounting for around 75% of the total monthly production figure. In July, the Tupi offshore oil field in the Bacia de Santos pre-salt deposit, near Brazil’s south-eastern coastline, produced the most oil and gas, totalling 865,710 bpd of oil and 41.63m cubic metres per day of gas.
