* Panama’s executive has sent down its proposed budget for the Panama Canal Authority (ACP) for fiscal year (FY) 2023-2024 to the 71-member unicameral legislature for approval. The proposed budget is for US$4.78bn, up from US$4.65bn approved for 2022-2023. The proposal envisages that Canal contributions to state coffers will amount to US$2.47bn on local press reports, down from US$2.54bn envisaged in the FY 2022-2023 proposal which was approved.
